These days, plastic is undeniably one of the great problems of our society. Is it impossible to live without plastic? Definitely not. Drastically reducing our usage of plastic and our ecological footprint is possible. Perhaps it will not be so easy to begin because we have grown so accustomed to using plastic, to such an extent that we don’t know how to live without it otherwise. These things that we consider “normal” habits are the most difficult to change. But what we do have are two infallible tools: information and willpower. We’ll give you the information, but will you put in your willpower?
– Avoid buying water in plastic bottles: water bottles represent one of the main waste problems. Buy glass bottles (glass is completely recyclable!)
-Reusable bags, shopping trolleys, baskets … these options are numerous! It is very easy to stop using plastic bags when you are shopping. In addition, depending on the option that you choose, your back will also appreciate it 😉
-Buy in bulk: this is one of the biggest challenges that you will encounter when you start your journey to reduce plastic, but it is also one of the most satisfying steps. Not only will you reduce your environmental impact but you will buy exactly what you need, without wasting anything! Also, the final price of your purchase will go down (remember you are not paying for the package!).
-Forget plastic straws: they are totally dispensable. Plastic straws are extremely harmful to the environment. If you can’t imagine the impact they cause, we invite you to watch this video. You will never want to use plastic straws ever again!
-Get the chewing gum out of your life: plastic, this is one of the main ingredients of chewing gum. Besides saving your health, you will also help minimize the production of plastic. And if you still can’t avoid chewing gum, you can choose the option of 100% natural and organic chewing gum. You will find them in any herbal store.
These are just some of the many options you have to reduce your ecological footprint (another is to buy clothes made from recycled plastic bottles, like our Divinity collection!). These daily changes will become good habits. And what’s better than making a conscious habit?
