1. Ubud, Bali
I’m sure you have all heard of escaping to do your yoga teacher training in Bali. It’s literally a yogi heaven, with dozens of yoga classes to choose from everyday. There are styles to suit everyone, from a power vinyasa flow to a calm spiritual meditation. The amount of yoga could almost be overwhelming in some cases, but just remember to just go with the flow and breathe. You’re in Bali, how hard could life really be?
Do we need to say anymore? Everyone knows just how picturesque and beautiful these islands are. Now just imagine doing yoga, beach front and soaking in the Hawaii sun. Not to mention, yoga in Hawaii is surprisingly affordable. You can find classes on Oahu for as low as $6 per class and many studios also offer donation-based classes. You can even branch out and enjoy yoga on the neighboring islands of Maui or Kauai. The list goes on because just about every corner is a gorgeous one, perfect for yoga.
3. Tulum, Mexico
Tulum is a premiere destination for yoga lovers as you can find many of the most well-known yoga instructors in the world here. It can even be considered the yoga capital of Mexico. There are many teacher training courses and excellent daily classes to choose from. Not only that but it has spectacular Mayan ruins overlooking the warm Carribean Sea, incredible wildlife and the most pristine beaches you can imagine.
4. Mysore, India
If you are an Ashtanga yoga practitioner, we need not say more on why you should visit this mecca of Ashtanga yoga. It is a recognized world-wide hub for serious yoga practitioners. Normally you need at least a minimum of one month to take part and study yoga in Mysore. While many of the courses run for 2 months or more. You are sure to have an experience of a lifetime immersing yourself into a disciplined life of Ashtanga yoga, at the birthplace of where it all started.
5. Rishikesh, India
Another world-renowned hub of yoga, better known as the “Yoga Capital of the World”. This holy city rests on the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India. Widely popularized from when the Beatles made their meditational journey in 1968, this capital offers a variety of different styles of yoga classes, teacher trainings, kirtans and more. The relaxed atmosphere of the peaceful city can keep you there for days, weeks and even months. There’s nothing better than doing yoga and relaxing by the Ganga river for a chai tea after practice.
6. Costa Rica
A dream destination for yoga enthusiasts as many renowned yogis have started to settle in this beautiful heaven. Not only is it a heaven for yogis, but a heaven for surfers as well. Most resorts offer both yoga and surf to their guests. Now, every yogi may not be a surfer, as well as every surfer may not do yoga—but the combination of the two definitely go together like ‘white on rice’. Whether you are a surfer looking to enjoy some good waves, or a yogi looking to enjoy the beach—Costa Rica is definitely the place to explore your capabilities and enjoy the ride.
